out with CNG kits to be fitted to petrol driven cars. This kit can be fitted to any
petrol driven cars. The cost of this kit is Rs.33,500. These kits are
available with MUL dealers. |

Three Wheelers
Shri Shakti recently launched its LPG conversion kits in Bangalore. Shri Shakti
has targeted the Karnataka market after the High Court order which made it
compulsory for all 3-wheelers in the State to convert to LPG.
The kits and gensets for three wheelers are manufactured by Shri Shakti
and have been approved by (ARAI). Currently, the company awaits the approval of ARAI
for its 2-wheeler LPG conversion kits. Mr. D. V. Manohar, Chairman, SSLPG, stated that the
company's Rs. 5 crore facility at Hyderabad has started the production of these kits. The
capacity of the plant is 1.25 lakhs kits and the company hopes to increase this number to
five lakhs.
The conversion kits for 3-wheelers are to priced at Rs. 9000. The kit contains a 5.5
kg LPG cylinder which, under normal road conditions, will last for 250 km. Tests have
shown that LPG fuel can reduce vehicular pollution by 60 per cent. Further, the cost per
kilometre for 3-wheelers will be reduced to 53 paise per kilometre as the refilling charge
is only Rs. 120.
